Frequently Asked Questions

What is your response time?

Our response time is based on the time we are requested. The safety of our team is first priority. On average we have a advance team on the ground within 12-18 hours of the request.

How is your team requested?

You can request our team through our 24 hr contact number 828-303-7489

What is the cost of your team?

For the Faith Based Community, or other Non Profits there is NO CHARGE for our services. When we receive a government based request we determine the request to be either a Single Resource, which would be an Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) or a full team with Command and General Staff, which would be an Incident Management Team (IMT). We provide a full Mission Reediness Package to the requester to include in their cost to FEMA (Project Worksheet) for Declaration. The services of HELP Disaster Management are reimbursable by FEMA.

Will your team support special events and fundraisers?

Yes, we review these request on a case by case basis. Supporting local governments with events such as responder Line of Duty Death (LODD) are given priority over other request, always funded by donations by our own team members and have no limitations on services. Fundraisers are reviewed and fall under the grants section below

What is the difference between an IMAT and an IMT

An Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) serves more towards a “group” of single resources (certified people) that can inter- linked with a local or regional team to roster a full operational team. An Incident Management Team (IMT) once on the ground operates under a Delegation of Authority making the team fully responsible for all decisions

Does your organization offer grants?

Yes we realize sometimes projects must be completed and no money exist to complete it. We consider the community must come first in their needs related to disaster response. We review requests on an as needed basis After a review by the team not all projects can be approved,  but rest assured all  possible will be considered to provide your organization the resources needed to complete a project.
